On 8 and 12 July, CLAP-TECH students from Delia Memorial School (Hip Wo) and Hong Kong Red Swastika Society Tai Po Secondary School made visits to the Technovation Centre of ASTRI, one of the industry partners of CLAP-TECH Pathway, to get to know the recent development of locally initiated technology. Among the variety of technology demonstrated by the residing experts, including palm fusion biometric authentication locker, optical character recognition (OCR), and Raman spectroscope, students showed particular interest in immersing themselves in augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR) goggles, which analyse images and transmit the analysis to another paired device. This transmission can facilitate consultants to direct surgeries without concerns of geographical barrier.
