CLAP-TECH Pathway targets to capture the skill gap in the information and communication technology (ICT) industry and creative media industry. We aim at developing students for the new-collar jobs.
New Collar Bridging The Skill Gap
White-Collar
- Typically involve performing job duties in an office setting
- Generally require formal eduction, most often a bachelor’s degree
- Have a starting wage that is considered generally high, often paid on a salary basis
New-Collar
- Typically involve more technical or hands-on work, but are not limited to a particular setting
- May not require a traditional college degree, but do require considerable skills or talent, either learnt or self-taught
Blue-Collar
- Typically perform labour jobs or work with their hands
- Formal education not typically required, although vocational or certification courses may be required for some higher-skilled blue-collar jobs
