What is more fulfilling than designing your own mobile app or product? Yes, you bet! Work as a team and multiply the experience.
With the support of MIT Hong Kong Innovation Node, students of CLAP-TECH Pathway had a chance to devise their unique proposals that address the issue of domestic elderly care in Hong Kong. Guided by a team coach and some experiential games, each group of students put themselves in the perspectives of the elderly, and condensed their ideas into solid solutions step by step. Beavering away through three days of cross-school collaboration in research and development, they built the prototypes of their apps or products, and presented and pitched their cases, inlcuding market strategies and business models, in front of a judging panel of professionalsfrom the industry. Given its competing nature and the tension within, it took courage and resilience of the students to complete the camp. As reflected by some of them, the most fruitful takeaway rested in this rare-in-school opportunity for design thinking.
