A group of CLAP-TECH Pathway students recently participated in an introductory Java programming language course organised by UBS. Under the guidance of the UBS Group Operations and Technology Office, students had the opportunity to learn Java, the most widely used programming language in artificial intelligence (AI) technology.
As one of the industry partners of the CLAP-TECH Pathway, UBS is committed to providing students with meaningful workplace learning opportunities, such as company visits, career mentorship programmes and workshops. Designed by UBS, the course introduces the Java programming language used in different industries, including finance, product design, and service industries. The aim is for students to apply what they have learned in the future. During the final session of the course, UBS volunteers also shared their career experiences to give students a taste of what it is like to work as an IT professional.
The CLAP-TECH Pathway aims to addresses students’ career aspirations in the field of information technology, so that they can make early career plans and informed decisions based on their interests and skills under the guidance of industry professionals.
